Shipping & Returns

Shipping

Every piece is carefully packaged and shipped from the Netherlands with tracked and insured shipping. High-value orders are shipped fully insured at no extra additional cost.

I want your jewellery to arrive safely, beautifully, and ready to become part of your story.

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email including your tracking info.

Delivery Times

Orders are typically shipped within 1–3 business days.
All orders include tracking.
High-value are shipped fully insured at no additional cost.

Estimated delivery times:

• Netherlands: 3–5 business days
• Europe: 5–8 business days
• US & UK: 5-10 business days
• Other international destinations: 10–20 business days

Please note that delivery times are estimates and may vary during busy periods or due to customs delays.

For destinations outside the EU, customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations. These costs are the responsibility of the buyer

Returns

It's important to me that your jewellery feels like you. If it doesn't, returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery.

If you would like to request a return, please contact me via the contact page or email so I can provide you with the return instructions.

Items must be returned:
- in their original condition
- securely packaged
- with tracked shipping

I strongly recommend returning pieces with tracked and insured shipping. I can not be held responsible for retunrs lost or damaged during transit.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

Caring for beautiful things also means caring for the world around us. Reducing unnecessary waste is important to me, which is why Aurora offers the option to choose a clean, secure reused gift box during checkout.

Sizing

Ring sizing


Ring sizing can be confusing, especially as sizing systems vary between countries.

At Aurora, rings are listed using inside diameter and circumference as the primary measurements. These measurements are universal and remain the same wherever you are in the world.

Tip: The easiest way to determine your size is to measure a ring that already fits comfortably and compare it to the chart below.

Bracelet sizing

Finding the right bracelet size is easier than you might think. A bracelet should feel comfortable and secure while matching the way you love to wear your jewellery.

Step 1: Measure your wrist
Use a soft measuring tape to measure your wrist just above the wrist bone.
Don’t have a measuring tape? Simply wrap a strip of paper or a piece of string around your wrist, mark where the ends meet, then measure that length with a ruler.
Measure your wrist without pulling the tape too tightly.

Step 2: Choose your preferred fit
Everyone wears bracelets differently. Some prefer a close fit, while others enjoy a little more movement.

As a general guideline add:
• 0.5–1 cm for a close fit
• 1–2 cm for a comfortable fit
• 2–3 cm for a loose fit

For example, if your wrist measures 16 cm, you would typically choose:
Close fit: 16.5–17 cm
Comfortable fit: 17–18 cm
Loose fit: 18–19 cm

Choosing vintage bracelets
Because every Aurora piece is one of a kind, bracelet lengths vary from piece to piece.
Each product page includes the bracelet’s total length, making it easy to compare with your ideal bracelet size before purchasing.

Some bracelets finish with an open end link near the clasp. In many cases this allows the clasp tp be fastened to an earlier link, making the bracelet shorter without any permanent alterations.

Chain lenght

Chain Length Guide
Choosing the right chain length is about more than just numbers. The same chain can look completely different from person to person, depending on height, body proportions, neck size and personal style.
That’s why Aurora doesn’t recommend one “perfect” chain length. Instead, the best choice is the one that creates the look you love.

How chain length affects the look
As a general guide:
• 40 cm / 16” — Choker length
• 45 cm / 18” — Collarbone length
• 50 cm / 20” — Upper chest
• 60 cm / 24” — Mid chest
• 70 cm / 28” — Lower chest


The illustration above shows how the same chain lengths may appear differently on different body types. Use it as a visual guide rather than a fixed rule.

Wearing pendants
If you plan to wear a pendant, remember that it will make the necklace appear slightly longer. The size and weight of the pendant will also influence where it sits.

Choosing the right chain
Every Aurora chain is one of a kind, so lengths vary from piece to piece.
Each product page clearly states the chain length, making it easy to compare with necklaces you already own and enjoy wearing. A simple way to estimate your ideal length is to measure a favourite necklace from your own collection and compare it with the measurements listed on the Aurora product page.

Some chains finish with an open end link near the clasp. In many cases, this allows the clasp to fasten onto an earlier link, making the chain shorter without any permanent alterations.

Materials

Types of Gold & Colour

Aurora specializes exclusively in solid gold jewellery, available in a variety of carats. The purity of gold is measured in carats.
Pure gold (24k) is naturally soft, which is why it is mixed with other metals to create jewellery that can be worn and enjoyed for generations.

The metals added to gold also influence its colour. Depending on the alloy, solid gold can appear in different shades from warm yellow to softer deeper tones. These natural variantions are part of the beauty of vintage jewellery, giving each Aurora piece its own unique character.

The most common gold purities found in the collection are:
8k gold (333) — 33.3% pure gold
9k gold (375) — 37.5% pure gold
14k gold (585) — 58.5% pure gold
18k gold (750) — 75% pure gold
Occasionally, you may also come across pieces in other gold purities, depending on their age, origin and history.

Personally, I’m a great admirer of lower-carat gold such as 8k, 9k and 10k. It is still solid gold, beautifully durable and made to last for generations. It also allows remarkable vintage and antique pieces to remain more accessible without compromising on character or craftsmanship.

Every piece in the collection is solid gold. Whether a piece is 8k, 9k, 14k or 18k, what matters most is the combination of quality, craftsmanship and character. After all, a beautiful piece is defined by more than its carat value alone.

Hallmarks & Purity

They can indicate the gold purity, country of origin, assay office or maker. These marks are often an important clue when determining the authenticity and history of a piece.

Common gold purity marks include:
333 = 8k gold
375 = 9k gold
417 = 10k gold
500 = 12k gold
585 = 14k gold
750 = 18k gold

While hallmarks are an important part of the authentication process, I never rely on hallmarks alone. Every piece is personally inspected and tested upon arrival to verify its gold content and authenticity.

Many vintage and antique pieces also carry additional hallmarks that offer insight into where and when a piece was made.

Gemstones

Every gemstone has its own character, beauty and durability.

From sapphires and garnets to opals, emeralds and pearls, each stone possesses
unique qualities that have fascinated people for centuries.

One important factor is hardness, which is measured using the Mohs Hardness
Scale. In general, harder gemstones are more resistant to scratching, while
softer gemstones may require a little extra care during everyday wear.

Gemstones such as sapphires and rubies are excellent choices for everyday wear due to their exceptional hardness. Softer gemstones, including opals,
pearls and turquoise, are more delicate and benefit from a little extra care to
help preserve their beauty over time.

Because Aurora specialises in jewellery with intense gemstones, each stone carries its own unqiue character. Natural inclusions, variations in colour or signs of age are part of what makes a piece distinctive and beautiful.

Where known, gemstone information is included in the product description. If a stone has not been professionally tested, it will always be described as accurately and transparently as possible.

Curation

New, Estate, Vintage & Antique

Aurora curates both new and pre-owned jewellery, each chosen for its beauty, character and lasting significance.

• New jewellery has not been previously owned.
• Estate jewellery refers to jewellery that has been previously owned, regardless of age.
• Vintage jewellery is generally considered to be between 30 and 99 years old.
• Antique jewellery is at least 100 years old.

Vintage and antique jewellery offer something that cannot be recreated: history.

Many of these pieces were handcrafted decades ago using techniques and details rarely seen today. Their survival is a testament to the quality of their craftsmanship.

Antique jewellery is more than old jewellery. A piece that has survived for over 100 years has already proven its beauty, craftsmanship and lasting value.
To wear antique jewellery is to wear something genuinely rare: a piece of history that has travelled through generations before becoming part of your story.

Because of their age, craftsmanship and rarity, many vintage and antique pieces are truly one of a kind.

Condition & Wear

Aurora curates only pieces that remain beautiful, wearable and in very good overall condition..

Many Aurora pieces have lived a life before arriving here.

As a result, subtle signs of age, wear and use may be present. Small scratches, softened details or gentle patina are often part of the character of estate, vintage and antique jewellery.
Rather than diminishing a piece, these signs often reflect its history and journey through time.

Any notable imperfections will always be clearly described and photographed.

Every piece is carefully inspected to ensure it remains beautiful, wearable and ready for its next chapter.

Years of collecting jewellery have taught me what truly lasts. I personally source every piece from trusted dealers, estate collections, auctions and antique markets, always looking for exceptional craftsmanship, character and lasting beauty.

Every piece is carefully inspected for authenticity, condition and wearability before becoming part of the collection.

If I wouldn’t proudly wear it myself, it doesn’t become part of Aurora.
